Pune, June 27: The investigation into the murder of 26-year-old real estate businessman Ketan Agarwal continues as police interrogate the family of the accused, Siya Goyal, for the second consecutive day. On Saturday, Siya’s parents and her brother Sahil appeared at the Lonavala police station, where they were questioned regarding the murder case.
The Pune police summoned both Siya’s parents and Sahil for questioning. They arrived at the Lonavala station on Saturday morning.
Previously, on Friday, police had interrogated Sahil for nearly 10 hours. An officer from the Lonavala rural police confirmed that Sahil was called in for questioning and was released after several hours.
According to police officials, Sahil arrived for questioning on Friday morning and was allowed to leave late in the evening. During this time, authorities asked him about the relationship between Siya and co-accused Chetan Chaudhary, their communications, and several critical aspects of the case. Sahil reportedly stated, “If Siya had said she didn’t like Ketan, we would have stopped the wedding.”
Siya Goyal is accused of murdering her fiancé, Ketan Agarwal. Initially, his death was considered an accident during a tracking event, but later investigations revealed it to be a premeditated murder plot.
Police reported that on June 18, Siya Goyal and her boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary conspired to push Ketan Agarwal off a cliff at Lohgad Fort in Lonavala. Investigative agencies believe they orchestrated this plan because Siya did not want to go through with the wedding scheduled for November.
Ketan Agarwal served as the Director and Chief Marketing Officer of his family’s real estate company, Success Group.
