Mumbai, September 21 (Daily Kiran) : A tragic road incident in Mumbai has resulted in the death of 32-year-old Kanur Mistry, a cabin crew member for Indigo Airlines. The accident occurred on the morning of September 18, and Mistry was hospitalized in critical condition, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
According to police reports, Mistry, who resided in Mira Road, was returning home after completing her duty. She was driving a Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, and the airline had arranged transportation for its staff through a travel company.
The accident took place around 5:45 AM on the Western Express Highway, near the Blue Sky Cooperative Society. The driver, 25-year-old Vijay Khosse, lost control of the vehicle, which crashed into the bridge railing. The impact was severe, leading to critical head injuries for Mistry.
Fortunately, Khosse was unharmed and did not flee the scene. With the assistance of local residents, he transported the injured Mistry to Bhaktivedanta Hospital in Mira Road, where she was treated until her passing later that evening.
Police officials stated that Khosse was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Initially, a case was registered under sections 125 and 281 of the Motor Vehicles Act. However, following Mistry’s death, section 106(1) was added to the case.
Khosse was brought to the police station and issued a notice after the incident. Since he had already been notified, no additional notice will be issued. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
