Mumbai, September 21 (Daily Kiran) : A deadly car accident on Mumbai’s Coastal Road has raised serious concerns regarding speeding and negligence. The crash, which occurred early Sunday morning, claimed the lives of three young men and left another person critically injured.
According to reports, the incident took place between 5:00 and 5:20 AM when a car traveling north from Marine Drive towards Haji Ali lost control near Lotus Jetty. The vehicle reportedly crashed through a barrier and plummeted into an under-construction area, highlighting the severity of the collision as it also destroyed a signboard on the bridge.
The four occupants of the car have been identified as Shanay Gujjar (21), Dhairya Darshan Seth (17), Aditya Jacksonia (approximately 18-19), and Aditya Kalpeshwar Oswal. Authorities stated that Gujjar was found in the driver’s seat after the incident, with allegations suggesting he was driving recklessly and at high speed, leading to the tragic outcomes for himself, Seth, and Jacksonia.
Oswal sustained serious injuries and was taken to Nair Hospital alongside the others. Unfortunately, Gujjar, Seth, and Jacksonia were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, while Oswal continues to receive medical treatment.
In the aftermath of the crash, police recovered four mobile phones from the scene, including three iPhones and one OnePlus model, as well as a “Coach New York” wallet containing a ₹100 note and Jacksonia’s Aadhaar card. An FIR has been filed at the Tardeo police station under Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
