Pune, March 8: Amid escalating conflicts in the Middle East, Indian citizens have been safely evacuated from Dubai and returned home. Upon landing at Pune Airport, these travelers expressed their relief and gratitude towards the government for their support.
Nidhi, a female traveler who arrived from Dubai, shared her experience: “Initially, when the fighting began last Saturday, I felt scared. However, the college, the Indian embassy, and the Indian government provided immense help. Everything turned out well.”
She added that returning home feels great. “We hope the fighting stops soon so we can return to college and avoid losing our studies. The government has been doing a commendable job. Thanks to this government, Indians abroad receive excellent support, and we take pride in our Indian government.”
Another traveler, Priyanka, mentioned that they had gone on a 15-day work trip. “We never felt like we were stuck in a war-torn country or unsafe. The local government ensured our safety.”
She also noted that while distant explosions could be heard, there was no sense of danger or panic.
Arjun Bandhu recounted that when they arrived at the airport, a missile attack alert was issued. “Everyone was taken to the bunker. After some time, when the situation normalized, we were brought outside. Later, we learned that the missiles had been intercepted.”
Anand Vinekar, another traveler, stated, “I had booked my flight, but there were delays. Thanks to SpiceJet, I arrived on time as they did not cancel flights. I was stuck for a week, and now I feel very relieved to be back.”
Gulfam, who has been working in Dubai for six years, remarked, “We heard some noise, but everything was fine. The UAE took good care of us.”
