World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference Set for October in Beijing

Beijing, July 28: The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China has announced that the World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference will be held in Beijing in mid-October 2026. This event is a joint effort between MIIT, the Ministry of Transport, and the Beijing government.

The theme of the conference is “Harnessing Intelligence and Energy for Unbounded Connectivity: Progressing Steadily into the New Era of Autonomous Driving.” The conference will feature three main sessions focused on critical issues related to industry milestones and development. It will also showcase the latest achievements in the field, providing a comprehensive overview of advancements in autonomous driving and future development frameworks.

An official from MIIT stated that the conference aims to build global consensus on industry development, systematically analyze trends in autonomous driving technology, industry direction, and regulatory frameworks. Additionally, it will emphasize promoting high-level intellectual achievements and policy consensus. This initiative is expected to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation, enhance policy dialogue and mutual recognition of standards among countries, and yield more practical outcomes. Furthermore, it will promote the demonstration of technical achievements and their practical applications, accelerating industrial collaboration and the expansion of various applications.

Moreover, the ministry indicated that MIIT will expedite the finalization and release of the 15th Five-Year Plan for the development of the intelligent connected new energy vehicle industry. Significant advancements in key core technologies will also be accelerated, along with the development of important standards, international coordination, and their implementation. Pilot programs integrating vehicles, roads, and cloud technologies, as well as projects related to production and road use, will also be advanced to establish a robust ecosystem connecting the entire industry chain.
