Indian Army Thwarts Infiltration Attempt in Jammu and Kashmir, Terrorist Killed

Mumbai, May 12: The Indian Army successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. During the operation, one infiltrating terrorist was killed.

The White Knight Corps, based in Nagrota, reported on the social media platform ‘X’ that suspicious activities were observed around 4 PM, approximately 300 meters inside Indian territory near the Krishna Valley sector.

The post stated, “Alert soldiers of the White Knight Corps acted swiftly to prevent the infiltration attempt, ensuring no breach occurred along the Line of Control. One infiltrator has been neutralized. Our troops are fully deployed in the area, maintaining a high level of vigilance across the sector.”

The post further emphasized, “The Night Corps remains ever vigilant. Every infiltration attempt will be thwarted. We serve, we secure!”

According to the Army, this incident occurred in the forward area of the Krishna Valley along the Line of Control when alert soldiers spotted a group of terrorists attempting to infiltrate from Pakistan-administered Kashmir. A confrontation ensued, leading to the engagement.

Search operations are still ongoing in the area.

The Line of Control stretches approximately 740 kilometers, traversing the Baramulla, Kupwara, and Bandipora districts of the Kashmir Valley, as well as parts of the Poonch, Rajouri, and Jammu districts in the Jammu division.

Additionally, an international border of about 240 kilometers runs through the Jammu, Samba, and Kathua districts. The Indian Army is responsible for securing the Line of Control, while the Border Security Force monitors the international border.

The deployment of the Army and BSF aims to prevent infiltration, smuggling, drone activities, and operations conducted by terrorist organizations across the border, which are allegedly supported by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence.

These drones are reportedly used to drop weapons, ammunition, cash, and drugs, which are then collected by overground workers of terrorist organizations to facilitate terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
