New Delhi, March 9: The Indian Army conducted an impressive display of military skills on Sunday, featuring daring maneuvers and helicopter demonstrations. Soldiers showcased various military equipment, accompanied by performances from a military pipe band.
Under the auspices of the Army’s Sapta Shakti Command, the renowned ‘Gaurav Senani Rally’ was held in Churu, Rajasthan. This grand event included a significant gathering of over 10,000 veterans, war widows, and their families, along with a medical camp.
The rally focused on veteran welfare and featured captivating cultural presentations. It highlighted the crucial role of veterans in national development and military traditions. Assistance counters and stalls were set up by various record offices, banks, and welfare agencies like AWPO, ECHS, and the District Soldier Board. These counters aimed to address veterans’ grievances, assist with document updates, pension queries, and employment opportunities.
Military officials noted that the Revenue Department’s participation through dedicated stalls was a unique initiative for this event. Additionally, the medical camp provided comprehensive health check-ups and expert consultations for veterans and their families. Distinguished guests included Lieutenant General Manjeet Singh, Army Commander of the Sapta Shakti Command, and other notable civic leaders.
The event reinforced the commitment to ensure veterans’ welfare. The state government assured that it is working towards providing various facilities for soldiers, veterans, and their dependents at a single location, with plans for an integrated soldier welfare complex underway. The Army Commander addressed the veterans, reiterating the commitment to ongoing dialogue and comprehensive care for veterans, war widows, and mothers.
In the current geopolitical climate, where conflicts are prevalent in many parts of the world, maintaining full preparedness for national security is crucial. In this context, veterans play a vital role as the second and third line of defense for the nation.
During the rally, a ceremony honored war widows, mothers, and injured veterans for their exceptional contributions and sacrifices. Additionally, various assistive devices were provided to disabled veterans, including 16 three-wheeled scooters, 113 wheelchairs, 80 hearing aids, 29 walkers, 29 patient beds, and BP machines.
