
New Delhi, April 29: Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh met with Lieutenant General Edward Asryan, Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, in New Delhi on Tuesday. The discussion focused on enhancing operational cooperation, improving mutual coordination, and strengthening ties related to air power between the two nations.
The Indian Air Force’s Media Coordination Center announced on the social media platform ‘X’ that Lieutenant General Asryan, who is on an official visit to India, met with Air Chief Marshal Singh. The primary focus of their conversation was on defense collaboration, joint operations, and fortifying the relationship between the air forces.
Earlier in the day, Lieutenant General Asryan also met with Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan, where they explored the potential for joint projects in defense equipment development between the two countries.
The Integrated Defense Staff reported on ‘X’ that General Chauhan engaged in discussions with the Armenian Chief of General Staff. He was also accorded a Guard of Honor. The talks emphasized the progress in India-Armenia defense relations and explored ways to enhance future cooperation.
In February, a four-day visit to Armenia by an Indian defense delegation led by General Chauhan included a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to discuss new opportunities for strengthening defense and strategic cooperation.
The Integrated Defense Staff noted that during this meeting, both nations shared insights on changing global conditions and security challenges, agreeing to enhance cooperation.
Additionally, General Chauhan met with Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisogomonyan to discuss security situations and bilateral issues. He also engaged with Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan, emphasizing the need to further strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries.
General Chauhan addressed faculty and students at the National Defense Research University (NDRU), discussing global security conditions, technological changes, and significant transformations in the defense sector.
