Patna, August 28: BJP National Spokesperson Guru Prakash Paswan emphasized that India’s relationship with Nepal extends beyond mere diplomacy; it is deeply rooted in civilization and culture. He stated that India stands firmly with Nepal during times of crisis.
Commenting on the recent floods in Nepal, Paswan described the situation as tragic and unfortunate. He assured that the people of India, the Indian government, and Prime Minister Modi are united with every individual in Nepal. The central government is making every possible effort for rescue operations and restoring normalcy. He noted that the Ministry of External Affairs, Prime Minister Modi, and Home Minister Amit Shah are closely monitoring the situation.
Paswan highlighted that the central government initiated immediate action upon receiving reports of the disaster. Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed disaster response, relief, and infrastructure preparations with the Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. He stressed that minimizing the potential impact from Nepal is a top priority for the government.
Recalling the 2015 earthquake, Paswan mentioned that India was among the first countries to respond, attempting to deliver aid within 24 hours. He welcomed the visit of Nepal’s Prime Minister, stating that bilateral discussions will strengthen the relationship between the two nations. He described India-Nepal relations as familial, emphasizing that both countries support each other in times of joy and adversity.
In response to BJP Vice President Ram Madhav’s comments regarding Generation Z, Paswan noted the active participation of numerous youth organizations in the country. He referred to the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad as the oldest and largest student organization globally, while highlighting that the BJP is the largest political party and the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha is its primary youth wing. He reiterated the importance of youth involvement in democratic and social activities.
Targeting Rahul Gandhi, Paswan accused the Congress leader and his team of being inadequately prepared on various issues. He claimed that Gandhi’s assertions regarding AI, institutions, and universities are misleading, as viewed by the BJP. Citing employment and startup statistics, he noted a significant increase in jobs in the organized sector and a substantial rise in registered startups compared to 2016.
Regarding the Bihar government’s acceptance of demands from teacher candidates, Paswan praised the decision, asserting that a government should listen to all parties in a democracy. He mentioned that the number of vacant positions has risen from approximately 20,000 to 32,000, with ongoing discussions on the matter.
