India Reaffirms Zero Tolerance Against Terrorism with Operation Sindoor

New Delhi, May 7: On the first anniversary of ‘Operation Sindoor’, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar emphasized India’s unwavering commitment to a strict and zero-tolerance policy against terrorism.

In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Jaishankar stated, “A year ago, ‘Operation Sindoor’ showcased the nation’s resolve to defend itself against cross-border terrorism from Pakistan. India has taken decisive actions to ensure accountability for terrorist activities. We are committed to effectively countering such serious threats to peace and security. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India stands firm and resolute in conveying a message of zero tolerance towards terrorism.”

Additionally, Vice Admiral A.N. Pramod of the Indian Navy reported that on the night of May 6-7 last year, naval personnel collaborated with the Indian Army and Air Force in precision strikes against terrorist infrastructures under ‘Operation Sindoor’. This operation strengthened the spirit of joint efforts among the three armed forces. As the operation progressed, the Indian Navy’s forward deployment forced Pakistan’s naval and air units into a defensive posture, limiting their operations primarily to ports and near their coasts.

Meanwhile, a report from Greece’s media outlet Greece City Times indicated that ‘Operation Sindoor’ has exacerbated Pakistan’s economic crisis in 2026, diminishing investor confidence. The economic pressure has intensified on emerging sectors such as tourism, aviation, and military exports.

The military operation in May 2025 has led to increased inflation, further hampering growth and investor confidence. This has worsened the already fragile economic situation in the country.

The report further noted that ‘Operation Sindoor’ has diminished investor confidence, potentially compelling many investors to wait and assess the situation.
