Before this the Prime Minister will pay tribute at the Amar jawan Jyoti after which he will visit Rajghat to pay respects at the Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi. This will be followed by the flag hoisting ceremony and his address to the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort.
From the Jan Dhan Yojana to the swachta abhiyaan and from Start up India to Beti Bachao- Beti padhao several landmark campaigns have started their journey from the ramparts of red fort. They have strengthened the foundations of our democracy and opened the doors to new aspirations.
Another feature of the Independence day ceremony is the participation of NCC cadets and students. This year too 700 cadets from 16 Delhi schools will be present at the ceremony along with nearly 8500 students.
And as always Doordarshan has made special arrangements for a seamless telecast of the grand event. Doordarshan will showcase the Grandeur of India and its splendour, diversity, heritage and greatness in various fields like Music, Dance, Art &Culture, Sports and Wild Life-we will also trace the development of India and highlight the great country that India has become in 71 years of Independence.
The live coverage in High Definition involves 22 cameras at Red Fort and 4 cameras at Rajghat for the coverage of Homage to Father of the Nation by the Prime Minister.
This year, the Production plan has been enhanced using one additional camera on the ramparts at Red fort. It is for the first time that the Doordarshan Anchors will introduce the event from the ramparts of Red Fort. And in another first, PM Modi’s speech will be live streamed on Google.
Besides Delhi, state capitals, Union territories and embassies and consulates across the world are making full preparations for the celebrations. All in all the atmosphere all round is one of excitement and anticipation and each Indian is readying to celebrate this day in the best way they can.
