New Delhi, September 13 (Daily Kiran) : External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar met with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud in New Delhi on September 13. The meeting took place during the 18th BRICS Summit, where both leaders focused on advancing bilateral cooperation.
Jaishankar expressed his satisfaction over the meeting through a post on social media platform X, stating, “It was a pleasure to meet Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on the occasion of BRICS India 2026. We exchanged views on regional and global developments, as well as enhancing our bilateral cooperation.”
Earlier, discussions on defense cooperation were held between India and Saudi Arabia, reaffirming their commitment to strengthen strategic partnerships. This dialogue coincided with Indian Ambassador Vipul’s meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Assistant Defense Minister Khalid bin Hussain Al Biyari.
The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia shared on X that Ambassador Vipul and Al Biyari discussed India-Saudi defense collaboration and exchanged perspectives on regional issues, reiterating their commitment to enhancing strategic ties.
Additionally, Minister of State for External Affairs, Vardhan Singh, was on an official visit to Saudi Arabia from September 5 to 8. During his trip, he met with Mansour Hilal Al Mushaiti, the Deputy Minister for Environment, Water, and Agriculture, to discuss bilateral cooperation in environmental and climate action.
Singh also visited Indian workers at the Al Fanar company’s labor camp, acknowledging their role in strengthening India-Saudi relations. He expressed the Indian government’s commitment to the welfare of its expatriates, particularly workers abroad.
Furthermore, Singh reviewed bilateral relations with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Climate Envoy, Adel Al-Jubeir, discussing collaborative efforts on climate action. He also met with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Ahmed bin Suleiman Alrajhi, to explore ways to enhance cooperation in labor and workforce sectors.
