Patna, February 20: BJP leader Shah Nawaz Hussain expressed pride in the ‘India AI Impact Summit 2026′ following praise from Congress MP Shashi Tharoor. Hussain stated that this summit is a source of national pride for every Indian.

Speaking to reporters, he remarked, “Every Indian will stand tall knowing that such a significant AI summit has taken place in India, unparalleled anywhere else in the world. The success of this summit is resonating globally. Many are praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Shashi Tharoor is among those acknowledging its significance. Tharoor is one of the Congress leaders who speaks the truth and openly appreciates what is in the nation’s interest.”

Notably, Shashi Tharoor has taken a different stance from his party, defending the ongoing summit and referring to minor shortcomings as “small mistakes,” while praising its global success.

Senior Congress MP Tharoor commented, “Such incidents can occur in large events. There is no need to exaggerate them. This summit is remarkable due to the extensive public participation.”

The summit, held in the national capital, faced criticism from the opposition. Lok Sabha opposition leader Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge raised concerns about alleged mismanagement at the event. They also objected to the display of a Chinese-manufactured robot under the ‘Make in India’ banner, calling it contradictory.

Meanwhile, responding to the Supreme Court’s remarks on free services before elections, Shah Nawaz Hussain emphasized that assisting the poor is the government’s responsibility. He stated, “It is essential to help those living below the poverty line who struggle to secure two meals a day. As the country develops, the need for such assistance will diminish. The government ensures that benefits reach those in need, not those who are capable or tax-paying citizens receiving freebies.”
