Impact of Middle East Turmoil on Fuel Prices: Ramchandra Rao

Hyderabad, May 23: The recent increase in petrol and diesel prices has sparked intense political debate. Telangana BJP state president N. Ramchandra Rao stated that the ongoing global crisis and conflict in the Middle East have led to rising oil prices in several countries. He noted that due to the surge in crude oil prices in the international market, Indian oil companies have decided to raise fuel prices as well.

In an exclusive interview with a news agency, Rao emphasized that many nations have increased oil prices in light of the global crisis and the ongoing war in the Middle East. Consequently, Indian oil companies have also opted to raise fuel prices, as the cost of crude oil per barrel has escalated. This decision to increase fuel prices is deemed necessary under the current circumstances. However, he pointed out that compared to other countries, this increase by Indian oil companies is relatively modest and manageable for the common man.

While addressing the issue, Rao launched a verbal attack on K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), the executive president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), questioning why KTR’s stance on the Women’s Reservation Bill mirrors that of the Congress party. He accused the BRS of supporting Congress despite lacking numbers in the Lok Sabha and participating in a meeting convened by the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin.

The BJP state president further alleged that both BRS and Congress are collaborating against the BJP in the state. He claimed that politically, the BJP stands alone, yet the public remains supportive. As the BJP gains strength, Rao noted that BRS and Congress are increasingly aligning on various issues. He accused Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao of failing to take action against BRS leaders involved in corruption and other matters.
