VHP Supports Assams Proposal for 10% Salary Cut for Neglecting Parents

New Delhi, August 19: Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently announced that government employees could face a 10% salary deduction if they neglect their parents. This statement has garnered support from Vinod Bansal, the national spokesperson for the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP).

In a conversation with reporters, Bansal emphasized, “In a country like India, where elders have always been respected, neglecting those who gave us life is unfortunate and goes against our culture.”

He added, “It is regrettable that the government has to take such measures. However, it has become necessary. The government seems to recognize that such situations are arising. Therefore, this decision is welcome, as it will curb the disrespect shown by some towards their parents.”

Bansal also launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, stating, “The Congress party is getting trapped in its own statements. Different leaders are making contradictory remarks; the president says one thing, the general secretary another, and the ‘Yuvraj’ and ‘Mataji’ have their own narratives.”

Regarding the independence struggle, the VHP spokesperson remarked, “The current Congress has no right to speak on this matter. The partition of the country was due to the actions of their leaders’ ancestors, which led to the horrific massacre of millions of Hindus during that time. Congress has fragmented ‘Vande Mataram’ and facilitated the growth of the Muslim League’s ideology. Even after independence, they engaged in appeasement of jihadists and separatists. Congress should apologize for its misdeeds and has no right to point fingers at the Sangh.”
