Mumbai, August 19: Shiv Sena MLC Manisha Kayande held a press conference in Mumbai on Wednesday, addressing various issues including Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy’s comments about Sonia Gandhi, the Vande Mataram controversy, ongoing Supreme Court hearings regarding the Shiv Sena’s election symbol, and remarks concerning CJP founder Abhijit Dipek.
Commenting on Kumaraswamy’s use of the term “Italian blood” for Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, Kayande stated, “For 16 years, she did not take Indian citizenship. There is no need to say anything more about her. Her citizenship was of another country. So how can there be a sense of love for India? This is all just for votes and power, but now all opportunities have slipped from her hands.”
Regarding the controversy surrounding Vande Mataram, the Shiv Sena leader remarked that Congress has always opposed the song. She said, “Congress has always been against Vande Mataram because they believe it caters to Muslims. India is our motherland, so honoring Mother India is our moral duty.”
On the ongoing Supreme Court hearings about the Shiv Sena’s election symbol, she noted that the case is pending in court, with both sides presenting their arguments. “These arguments have been made before. They are just repeating the same points, and Shiv Sena will also reiterate its arguments. They keep repeating the same claims.”
Addressing Union Minister Kiren Rijiju‘s statements regarding CJP founder Abhijit Dipek, Kayande said, “All these documents and evidence show that they are linked to the Aam Aadmi Party. We have no issues with that. Our only concern is for the future of children. Politics should not interfere with issues related to children, and any organization or individual working in this area should operate transparently.”
