IED blast in J&K: 18 CRPF personnel martyred; 45 personnel injured

The vehicle was blown up by an improvised explosive device explosion on Srinagar-Jammu highway in Awantipora area of the district. 

The convoy was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar. The injured personnel have been shifted to nearby hospital. The terror group, Jaish-e-Mohammed has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack.

Various leaders including, Vice President, M Venkaih Naidu, union ministers, Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, and Piyush Goyal have condemned the attach.

Meanwhile, Ministry of Home Affairs is closely monitoring the situation. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, DG CRPF and the Home Secretary regarding the Pulwama attack. They have apprised him of the situation. Home Minister has cancelled his scheduled visit to Bihar tomorrow.
