Hema Malini Shares a New ‘Sholay’ Story
On the occasion of the golden jubilee of ‘Sholay,’ Hema Malini narrated a fresh story inspired by the film. She expressed her desire to live the characters from ‘Sholay’ in real life. Describing the recreation, she said, “It feels as if Dharamji and I have married, but in the style of ‘Sholay.’ We are happily living in the same outfits and roles. Many people live in the village of Ramnagar. The story includes Amitji, Thakur, and Gabbar as well. I play the cook who goes house to house preparing meals. Gabbar runs a samosa shop and sells samosas.”
This storyline was shared with Hema Malini by a group of boys, which she found very endearing.
Ramesh Sippy on Casting Hema as Basanti
Ramesh Sippy revealed the casting story of Hema Malini as Basanti. He said, “We had worked together earlier in ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’ and I knew her well. However, after reading the script, Hema immediately agreed to be part of the film.”
