New Delhi, July 22: The political landscape in Delhi has intensified during the Monsoon session of Parliament, particularly concerning the NEET paper leak issue. Union Minister Ramdas Athawale stated that Rahul Gandhi is currently pursuing actions he believes are right. Regarding the NEET paper leak, he emphasized that the government does not support such incidents and is concerned, having initiated a thorough investigation.
BJP MP Satish Poonia remarked that the Constitution grants freedom of expression to all citizens, but it also has limitations, with national security being paramount. He suggested that democratic protests should remain within appropriate boundaries.
Central Minister S.P. Singh Baghel asserted that the House operates according to rules and procedures. He noted that when the opposition wishes to discuss matters, the Speaker will consider these regulations. He criticized the opposition for not submitting notices in the House but instead making their demands on the streets. Rahul Gandhi staged a protest near Prime Minister Modi’s residence on Tuesday, which he described as one of the most chaotic events in India’s history.
BJP MP Manan Kumar Mishra targeted the opposition, accusing them of seeking political messaging rather than genuine discussion within Parliament. He stated that the government is open to dialogue, but the opposition seems intent on politicizing student issues. He also claimed that the youth of the country understand the situation and are being misled by certain individuals.
BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal commented that the opposition lacks a solid agenda and aims only to disrupt parliamentary proceedings. He noted that the Lok Sabha Speaker consistently emphasizes the importance of adhering to rules, urging all parties to respect parliamentary decorum.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Shashank Mani Tripathi expressed that the government is fully prepared to discuss the NEET issue. He mentioned that the timing and rules for this discussion will be determined by the Speaker. He affirmed that Parliament operates through dialogue and discussion, not through slogans and protests. He is confident that discussions in the House will address students’ concerns and clarify any misunderstandings related to the issue.
