Chandigarh, June 25: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini addressed the people from the sacred land of Sri Muktsar Sahib in Punjab on Wednesday. He urged them to regain their lost pride and work towards making the state number one in the country through development, good governance, and politics driven by national interest.
Paying homage to the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev, and all the Sikh Gurus and Sahibzadas, the Chief Minister remarked that the holy land of Sri Muktsar Sahib stands witness to the unparalleled sacrifices of Chali Mukte, Bhai Maha Singh Ji, and Mai Bhago Ji.
Saini emphasized that the culture, language, and emotional ties of Punjab and Haryana are intertwined. He stated that he approached the people of Punjab not as the Chief Minister of a neighboring state, but as a younger brother and well-wisher.
He criticized the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for failing to meet the expectations of the people. He accused Congress of corruption, nepotism, and hindering development, while alleging that AAP has turned Punjab into a political laboratory and has not fulfilled its promises.
The Chief Minister pointed out that AAP made significant pledges in Punjab, yet today, every section of society is questioning where the promised change is. He highlighted that the commitment to provide women with ₹1,100 every month remains unfulfilled even after four years.
In contrast, he noted that the Haryana government has initiated the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Scheme, providing women from poor families with ₹2,100 monthly, with millions already transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
Saini raised concerns about drug abuse, crime, illegal mining, financial mismanagement, and deteriorating law and order under the AAP government. He stated that Punjab’s youth are struggling to find jobs, with many resorting to illegal means to go abroad.
He stressed that the most severe crisis facing Punjab is the escalating threat of drugs, which has devastated numerous families and jeopardized the future of the youth.
