Chandigarh, September 2: The Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini, presented a proposal in the Assembly on Tuesday dedicated to the nationwide ‘Guru Ravidas Maharaj Samarasata Sankalp Abhiyan’ in honor of the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas. The proposal was unanimously passed.
While presenting the proposal, the Chief Minister stated that this campaign, which commenced on July 29 during Guru Purnima, will continue until February 20, 2027.
The objective of this initiative is to disseminate the eternal messages of equality, compassion, service, devotion, social justice, and harmony of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas to every segment of society and to strengthen social unity among diverse communities.
The Chief Minister mentioned that the campaign was launched from the sacred birthplace of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas, ‘Sar Gobardhan’ in Varanasi. On this occasion, a pot filled with holy soil from his birthplace was respectfully welcomed and subsequently handed over to representatives from various states across the country.
CM Saini noted that the pot carrying the sacred soil arrived in Haryana on August 4. A grand welcome ceremony was held on August 5 at the Mata Sheetala Temple complex in Gurugram.
The pot brought from Haryana is being distributed at district and village levels, where devotees are mixing the holy soil with that of local temples, spreading the message of social harmony promoted by Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas.
The Chief Minister announced that the Samarasata Yatra will reach Haryana on October 5 and will continue until November 5. Welcome gates and centers will be established throughout the state along the route, and public gatherings will also be organized.
Additionally, from November 26 to January 15, 2027, special discussion programs will be conducted in hostels, colleges, universities, and coaching centers.
CM Saini emphasized that Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas was born in the holy city of Kashi on the auspicious occasion of Magh Purnima. His personality was as serene and radiant as the full moon.
He also mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a special event at Dera Sachkhand Ballan on February 1, marking the 649th birth anniversary of Sant Shri Guru Ravidas.
