BJP Claims Rahul Gandhi is Preparing Excuses for Expected Election Defeat

Chennai, September 2: The BJP’s Tamil Nadu spokesperson, Narayanan Tirupati, stated on Wednesday that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is aware of his party’s impending defeat in the upcoming elections. He suggested that Gandhi is already seeking explanations for the expected results.

Following the removal of 2.07 crore voters from the draft electoral rolls in Maharashtra, Gandhi accused the BJP and the “vote theft commission” of continuously altering their strategies to ensure victory at any cost.

In an interview, Narayanan asserted that the opposition’s criticism of the electoral roll revisions was merely an attempt to create excuses for their potential loss. “Rahul Gandhi knows his defeat is inevitable, regardless of what he claims. As for the electoral roll revisions, they have approached the court, but the court has clearly stated that the Election Commission’s actions are valid,” he said.

He emphasized that the Election Commission has repeatedly demonstrated that ensuring the accuracy of voter lists is essential. Names of individuals with multiple votes, deceased voters, or those who have changed their residences must be removed. “This should be welcomed rather than opposed,” he added.

Narayanan further stated, “Regarding the Election Commission, yes, they have been extremely successful. This is a significant reform and should be welcomed. Rahul Gandhi is already preparing explanations for his potential defeat in the 2029 elections. He is afraid of losing and is trying to find reasons for his loss in the coming years. By making such statements, he has already ensured his defeat in 2029.”

Responding to the Noida-Delhi bus rape case, the spokesperson described the incident as “extremely unfortunate” and called for severe punishment for those responsible. “This is truly unfortunate, and we are deeply saddened. The perpetrators of this crime must be punished immediately, and the punishment should be so severe that such incidents do not occur anywhere in India,” he stated.

He also criticized the unnecessary expenditures by the government regarding the opening of the Mettur Dam and questioned the need for political events surrounding a regular process.
