
Gandhinagar, September 30 (Daily Kiran) : In Gandhinagar, a serious allegation has emerged against a finance manager from IIFL Samasta Finance Limited. The assistant branch manager, Pankaj Mal, is accused of submitting false death certificates for 32 living loan holders to cancel their loans.
The incident took place in Santrampur, located in the Mahisagar district. Mal reportedly filed these fraudulent documents to terminate loans and misappropriated the claims. The vigilance team of IIFL Samasta Finance uncovered the scheme and promptly informed the area manager in Godhra.
Following this revelation, a formal complaint was lodged at the Santrampur police station, detailing the fraudulent activities involving the fake deaths and loan cancellations. G.L. Chaudhary, Deputy Superintendent of Police for Mahisagar, confirmed that the cluster manager of IIFL Finance filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Mal.
According to the police, Mal manipulated the situation by assuring customers that he could approve new loans for them, requiring an upfront payment. This led to a total fraud exceeding ₹12 lakh. The Santrampur police inspector is currently investigating the case, stating that the arrest of the accused will occur soon, and searches for relevant documents are ongoing.
