Gandhinagar, February 27: Gujarat’s Governor, Acharya Devvrat, inaugurated an exhibition showcasing natural farming products at the Gujarat Assembly complex on Friday. The exhibition aims to raise awareness among farmers and the public about chemical-free farming and promote natural agricultural products.
A total of nine stalls were set up in the assembly complex, demonstrating that high-quality crops can be grown without chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
Following the inauguration, the Governor and other dignitaries visited the stalls and interacted with progressive farmers. Various entities participated in the exhibition, including Kamdhenu Natural and Organic Farm, Adesar Area Farm Producer Company Limited, Ramiba and Ramaba Natural Farming Farms, Neer Natural Farm, and Pratenma Natural Farm.
Additionally, agricultural institutions such as Sardar Krishinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University in Banaskantha district and Junagadh Agricultural University in Gujarat showcased their products and innovations.
Gujarat Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary spoke to reporters, stating, “Poison-free farming, or natural farming, is like nectar. A major global issue is that the use of fertilizers and pesticides in agriculture severely impacts the quality of produce. It is crucial for us to shift towards natural farming to protect future generations.”
Governor Acharya Devvrat expressed gratitude to Speaker Shankar Chaudhary for prioritizing serious issues like natural farming, which are urgently needed by our country, society, and nature.
He noted that farmers are saving between 500,000 to 700,000 rupees through natural farming, making the land more fertile and increasing farmer happiness. In areas practicing this type of farming, carbon levels have risen from one percent to two or three percent. Water and costs are being saved while production increases.
The exhibition aims to provide a platform for farmers adopting natural farming at the state level and to recognize their efforts. Governor Acharya Devvrat has long been an advocate for natural farming and rural development, encouraging farmers to adopt sustainable practices, improve soil health, and reduce costs.
The event was attended by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary, Deputy Speaker Purnesh Modi, Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rishikesh Patel. State BJP President and MLA Jagdish Vishwakarma also participated in the program.
