Assam Minister Piyush Hazarika Criticizes Congress for Copy-Paste Manifesto

Guwahati, March 30: Assam government minister and BJP leader Piyush Hazarika has launched a sharp attack on the Congress party’s recently released so-called ‘guarantees.’ He accused Congress of merely ‘copy-pasting’ the existing plans of the Assam government.

Hazarika took to the social media platform X to express his views, stating, “I am reading the so-called ‘guarantees’ declared by Assam Congress. In reality, from ‘Arunodaya’ to ‘Mission Basundhara’ and the ‘Chief Minister’s Women Entrepreneurship Scheme,’ they have simply copied every scheme initiated or expanded by CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.”

He posed several questions to Congress, pointing out that for the past five years, the party has consistently claimed that the BJP government is creating beneficiaries through loans. Instead of presenting a new roadmap, Congress is merely promising to continue the BJP’s impressive track record. In this context, why should voters trust a lazy and hypocritical Congress? While the chances of Congress winning are slim, if they somehow come to power, where will they source the funds for these schemes? Will they replicate the situation in Himachal Pradesh in Assam?

Hazarika emphasized that the most critical issue is Congress’s complete disregard for a significant BJP promise. The BJP has pledged to return 5 lakh bighas of encroached land to the indigenous people of Assam. Congress is avoiding this topic entirely, as their primary voter base consists of illegal immigrants who have occupied thousands of hectares of land belonging to the people of Assam.

He expressed confidence that the people of Assam have always trusted BJP policies and benefited from them. Referring to the Congress manifesto as a ‘copy-paste manifesto,’ he stated that it further proves there is no alternative to the BJP’s vision and mission for a ‘developed’ and ‘secure’ Assam.

The minister concluded, “The people of Assam have directly benefited from BJP’s schemes. Congress continues to protect the interests of old thinking and illegal immigrants.”
