Katra, June 13: Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Kavinder Gupta, visited the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. He expressed, “There is faith, devotion, and belief. Based on that belief, one must visit the mother’s court repeatedly. I believe that what I have received so far has come from here.”
During his visit, Governor Gupta proposed the development of a religious corridor connecting the sacred sites of Himachal and Jammu. He stated, “I have discussed this topic with Prime Minister Modi. Our Kangra district, which is home to many deities, holds immense significance, just like Vaishno Devi. The mountains are interconnected, and there is a bond between Chamba and Bhaderwah as well. A religious corridor should be established for such pilgrimages, allowing people to easily reach these holy sites. This is my endeavor, and steps will be taken to ensure this in the future.”
While praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 12-year tenure, he remarked, “I congratulate the Prime Minister. Over the past 12 years, he has set many records. Whether in diplomacy, defense policy, or economic policy, India’s name has been illuminated in every field. I pray to Mata Rani for his long life, so he can continue to serve the nation in this manner.”
On providing employment opportunities for the youth of Himachal Pradesh, he mentioned, “We recently launched a program called ‘Rozgar Dham’ in various universities in Himachal Pradesh, such as Solan University and Himachal Pradesh University. The aim is to focus on skill development, encouraging youth to move towards self-employment and become job providers instead of job seekers.”
Regarding the alleged violence in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, he stated, “In the past few days, over 50 people have been killed there. Pakistan has long been suppressing such acts, whether in Balochistan, Sindh, or Bangladesh. Attempts are made to silence the voices of the people, which is wrong. I appeal to the global community to exert pressure on Pakistan to stop human rights violations.”
He further asserted that Kashmir is an integral part of India, and the activities of the Pakistani government concerning the situation there are a serious concern that cannot be accepted.
Responding to tensions between Iran and the United States, he said, “World peace is extremely necessary. Any conflict should be based solely on issues. Such circumstances are not suitable for the entire world.”
