Jaipur, April 10: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced that the prosperity of farmers is the foundation for both state and national progress. He stated that ‘Gram-2026′ will provide a shared platform for farmers, experts, and investors.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to strengthening Rajasthan’s agricultural framework, he emphasized efforts to enhance farmers’ incomes through innovation, technology, and policy collaboration.
Speaking at the upcoming ‘Global Rajasthan AgriTech Meet’ (Gram-2026), scheduled from May 23 to 25, the Chief Minister highlighted that this event will uniquely bring together farmers, scientists, investors, and policymakers.
“Gram-2026 will promote meaningful dialogue and empower farmers to benefit from global expertise, modern technologies, and advanced agricultural practices,” he said.
The Chief Minister announced that awareness vehicles will be deployed at the gram panchayat level starting April 15. These vehicles will disseminate information about farmer welfare schemes and will include suggestion boxes for direct feedback from farmers.
He noted that Rajasthan ranks first in the production of millet, mustard, oilseeds, barley, and guar, while it holds second place in mung bean and peanut production, and third in soybean production.
He urged farmers to adopt scientific agricultural methods, minimize the use of chemical fertilizers, and rely on soil testing to maintain long-term soil fertility. He also stressed the adoption of modern irrigation techniques, such as sprinkler systems, for water conservation.
The Chief Minister reported that micro-irrigation systems have been established over 480,000 hectares, along with the development of 12,476 water harvesting tanks and over 32,918 kilometers of irrigation pipelines.
Under the ‘Chief Minister Mangla Livestock Insurance Scheme,’ more than 1.2 million animals have been insured for free. Additionally, approximately 6 million animals have received treatment through mobile veterinary services, benefiting over 1.5 million livestock owners.
He mentioned that under the ‘Chief Minister Dairy Producer Support Scheme,’ dairy producers receive financial assistance of 5 rupees per liter. During the ‘Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit,’ over 2,539 MOUs worth more than 430 billion rupees were signed in the agricultural sector.
He also highlighted that farmers receive an annual amount of 6,000 rupees under the PM-Kisan scheme, with an additional 3,000 rupees from the state’s ‘Chief Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme,’ and plans to further increase this assistance.
Agriculture Minister Kirori Lal Meena stated that the government is focused on transitioning farmers to modern, technology-based farming. He added that Gram-2026 will connect farmers with global experts and new innovations.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Sharma unveiled the logo for Gram and released the official brochure. The event was attended by Livestock Minister Jorawar Ram Kumawat, Cooperation State Minister Gautam Kumar Dak, Chief Secretary V. Srinivasan, senior officials, and a large number of farmers.
