Beijing, June 8: Recently, global marine fisheries management and development activities took place in Shanghai. In line with World Environment Day, the event unveiled the Global Marine Fisheries Management Youth Initiative. This initiative calls on young people to focus on the issue of illegal fishing under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. It encourages scientific collaboration, public communication, and participation in voluntary services to build responsible fisheries systems.
Additionally, the event showcased outstanding works from the “China Fisheries Image” collection campaign from a global youth perspective. Young creators from 25 countries, including Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar, Tonga, Laos, and Pakistan, documented China’s ecological fisheries, achievements in digital fishing technology, and heartwarming stories of China-foreign fisheries cooperation through photography, video, and graphics.
