Global Celebrations Mark Indias Independence Day with Flag Hoisting and Exhibitions

Jeddah, August 15: The Indian Consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, hosted a special ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ exhibition as part of the Independence Day celebrations. The exhibition showcased the tricolor as a symbol of unity, freedom, and shared national pride.

Members of the Indian community, guests, consulate officials, and their families attended the exhibition. They created memorable moments with the tricolor and participated enthusiastically in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, embodying a spirit of patriotism.

In Lusaka, Zambia, the Indian High Commission also hoisted the tricolor. Indian expatriates and friends of India in Zambia gathered for the event, where they collectively sang the national song ‘Vande Mataram‘ and awarded prizes to winners of the ‘Know India’ (BKJ) quiz.

Lithuania saw a significant turnout of Indian expatriates and local friends at the 80th Independence Day celebrations, where Ambassador Devesh Uttam hoisted the tricolor.

In Mauritius, High Commissioner Anurag Srivastava highlighted the advanced strategic partnership between India and Mauritius during his address after the flag hoisting. He mentioned the special economic package announced for Mauritius and other significant progress in bilateral relations.

He urged expatriate Indians, especially the youth, to stay connected with India and take advantage of programs such as the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card, the ‘Know India Program’ (KIP), youth exchange programs, ITEC training slots, and scholarships.

In Belarus, the Independence Day celebrations began with a collective rendition of ‘Vande Mataram.’ Following this, Ambassador Ashok Kumar hoisted the national flag, and the national anthem was sung.

In Tanzania, over 600 attendees participated in the ceremony held at the Indian High Commission in Dar es Salaam, where High Commissioner Bishwadeep Day hoisted the tricolor.

The Indian High Commission shared photos of the event, stating, “Enjoy the proud moment of flag hoisting during the 80th Independence Day celebrations at the Indian High Commission in Dar es Salaam, where High Commissioner Bishwadeep Day raised the Indian tricolor in the presence of over 600 Indian friends.”
