Kolkata, March 6: Central Minister and senior BJP leader Giriraj Singh commented on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s nomination to the Rajya Sabha, stating it was a decision made at Kumar’s discretion. He also launched sharp attacks on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
In a conversation with reporters, Singh targeted the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Tejashwi Yadav, saying, “The RJD members and Tejashwi Yadav have insulted Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, calling him sick. Now, they are shedding crocodile tears. If CM Nitish Kumar has been nominated for the Rajya Sabha, it is by his own choice. The government of Bihar will run according to his will.”
He emphasized that Kumar’s decision is a personal and political one, free from any coercion. Singh accused the RJD of previously humiliating Kumar and now lamenting his absence.
The central minister also criticized the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and CM Mamata Banerjee, alleging, “Mamata Banerjee is deceiving Bengal. She wants to grant citizenship to infiltrators. I believe the Election Commission needs to delve deeper into this matter.”
Referencing historical events, Singh stated, “In 1946, Jinnah introduced the ‘Direct Action Day.’ At that time, Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy was the Chief Minister of undivided Bengal, and there was a massacre of Hindus. I believe Mamata Banerjee is in a similar position today as Suhrawardy. She is orchestrating a massacre of Hindus. If we are to save West Bengal and the country this time, every household must produce a Gopal Patha.”
He mentioned Gopal Patha’s significant role in protecting Hindus during the 1946 riots, reiterating that the current situation calls for Hindus to unite for their defense.
