Haryana CM Launches GVP-Free Campaign in Gurugram, Urges Public Participation in Cleanliness Drive

Gurugram, October 2 (Daily Kiran) : Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini launched the ‘GVP-Free Campaign’ in Gurugram on October 2, coinciding with Mahatma Gandhi‘s birthday. The initiative is part of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva 2026’ movement aimed at promoting cleanliness in the region. Saini personally participated in a cleanliness drive and led the gathered crowd in taking an oath to uphold sanitation.

In a statement to the media, Saini emphasized the ongoing ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan,’ encouraging participation from BJP workers and the general public. He noted the significance of October 2, Gandhi Jayanti, and aligned the campaign with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for a ‘Clean India, Healthy India.’

The Chief Minister highlighted the need to clear 189 garbage dumps across the district, stating that the campaign would commence immediately and aims to remove the waste within ten days. He appealed to the public for their support, urging them to contribute to cleanliness efforts.

Saini stressed, “If we cooperate, our villages, state, and country will be clean, fulfilling the Prime Minister’s vision for a healthier nation. We must pledge not to litter and ensure others do not either. This commitment will help us keep our homes, neighborhoods, streets, and cities clean and beautiful.”

He called on youth, women, shopkeepers, and all citizens to dispose of waste properly. “Where there is cleanliness, there is beauty, and people feel more at ease. Filth leads to diseases, so we must move forward with this resolution today,” he concluded.
