Mumbai, August 23: Union Minister Giriraj Singh launched a sharp attack on Congress regarding its stance on Vande Mataram during his visit to Mumbai. He accused the party of engaging in vote bank politics, claiming that Congress has adjusted its position on Vande Mataram to appease the Muslim vote bank. Singh stated that BJP and NDA workers will go door-to-door to expose Congress’s true nature to the public.
Singh emphasized that opposing Vande Mataram is an affront to India’s soul, the martyrs of the freedom struggle, and the writings of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay. He asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has worked to unite people through Vande Mataram. Additionally, he targeted Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of attempting to divert public attention from the issue to maintain his media presence.
Referring to Congress’s historical stance, Singh alleged that due to vote bank politics, Jawaharlal Nehru compromised on Vande Mataram in 1937 before Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He claimed that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are now following a similar path by yielding to the Muslim vote bank. Singh accused Rahul Gandhi of disregarding the spirit of the Constitution and engaging in divisive politics.
Singh also questioned Rahul Gandhi’s interactions with students in Pune and Congress’s outreach to Gen Z. He stated that Congress is forcefully dragging Gen Z into its agenda. Singh claimed that young people have visited Prime Minister Modi‘s residence, and Congress has no right to question this. He believes Congress will fail to make Gen Z a significant political issue.
Regarding Rahul Gandhi’s program in Pune, Singh noted that while Congress frequently questions the BJP, discussions should also focus on Gandhi’s statements. He remarked that Gandhi speaks of meeting students in Prayagraj and elsewhere, but his statements often lack acknowledgment of the nation’s achievements and instead spread confusion. Singh criticized Gandhi’s politics as focused on division and inciting public dissent against the government, which he deemed detrimental to national interests.
During his visit to Navi Mumbai, Singh also shared details about a program related to the textile sector. He mentioned that both the central and Maharashtra governments are advancing various schemes for the development of this sector. Emphasis is being placed on delivering facilities to the public through foundations and community service centers.
He urged both the Maharashtra and central governments to prioritize the purchase of locally produced goods. Files used in meetings are also being prepared locally, and they should be purchased on a priority basis by government departments and the general public. Singh expressed hope for a new revolution in the recycling sector following the installation of new machinery.
