Ghaziabad, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : In a dramatic turn of events in Ghaziabad, police apprehended three notorious thieves following a gunfight in the Sihani Gate area. The incident occurred on the night of September 11, when officers received a tip-off about three individuals on a motorcycle plotting a criminal act while armed with illegal weapons.
Upon receiving the information, the Sihani Gate police team initiated a check near the C-Block cut on Mangul Pandey Road. As they executed the stop signal, the suspects attempted to flee, leading to a chase. The motorcycle skidded, causing all three to fall. Police managed to capture one suspect immediately, while the other two attempted to escape.
In what authorities described as self-defense, the fleeing suspects allegedly opened fire on the police. The officers returned fire, injuring both suspects, who were subsequently taken into custody.
According to ACP Ziauddin, during interrogation, the arrested individuals confessed to being involved in four to five thefts and robberies over the past two months. The suspects have been identified as Shahrukh, Imran, and Sonu, the son of Abdul Sattar.
Shahrukh has an extensive criminal record with 13 cases against him, including murder and attempted murder. Meanwhile, Imran faces four charges, including robbery and illegal possession of firearms. The police are currently investigating their connections to other criminal activities.
