Kolkata, October 2 (Daily Kiran) : Kolkata’s political landscape was abuzz on October 2 as West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh responded to a series of pressing issues. He addressed allegations made by former minister Indranil Sen against former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, stating, “Investigations are ongoing. Today, it is Banerjee’s former ministers who are raising complaints against her. This too should be investigated.”
On the concerning incident involving Captain Smrit Machhar, Ghosh expressed his alarm. “The event that transpired is troubling. The co-pilot attacked the other pilot. Details about what happened inside the cockpit are still murky. Such incidents should never occur again. I salute Captain Smrit Machhar for his bravery,” he remarked.
Ghosh also commented on Banerjee’s remarks regarding Gyanesh Kumar and the implementation of the Security of Information Regulation (SIR). He asserted, “SIR will definitely be enforced. It is crucial for national security. No one has the right to stay here, vote, or reside without proper documentation.”
He further criticized Banerjee over allegations of EVM tampering in the West Bengal elections. “This is Mamata Banerjee’s old tactic. Whenever she loses an election, she blames others for her defeat,” Ghosh claimed.
Regarding the Congress party’s planned protest at Jantar Mantar, Ghosh took a jab, saying, “As the winter session approaches, Congress MPs will sit in the sun both inside and outside the House. Their sunbathing will continue for two to three months. If they worked among the public, perhaps people would think differently about them.”
Throughout his statements, Ghosh launched a strong attack on the opposition, asserting that the government is thoroughly investigating all matters, with no compromises on national security.
