Gaurav Bhatia Criticizes Rahul Gandhi for Irresponsibility and Anti-Dalit Stance

New Delhi, August 31: BJP National Spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia has targeted Rahul Gandhi, asserting that no leader in India has been as irresponsible or anti-Dalit and anti-backward as Gandhi. This statement comes in response to Gandhi’s remarks regarding a purification ceremony held by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, which Gandhi labeled as anti-Dalit.

During a press conference in New Delhi, Bhatia reminded Gandhi of Kharge’s claims of disrespect, stating that it was the fake Gandhi family that has disrespected him. He recounted an incident where Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was seen asking Kharge, who was seated in the second row during her nomination, to let her in. Bhatia questioned if this was not an insult.

Bhatia further criticized Gandhi for being oblivious to Kharge’s plight, noting that while Gandhi has time for global tours, he fails to address serious allegations from Dalit or backward communities. He referenced Congress leader Udit Raj’s derogatory remarks about former President Ram Nath Kovind, asking if Gandhi had ever spoken out against such comments.

He also mentioned Udit Raj’s statement regarding President Droupadi Murmu, questioning Gandhi’s silence on the matter. Bhatia accused Congress of double standards, suggesting that Kharge harbors resentment towards Gandhi.

On the topic of OBCs, Bhatia attacked Gandhi for his claims about supporting the community, pointing out Congress’s failure to implement the OBC Commission. He claimed that past Congress leaders have been anti-reservation, predicting a significant loss for Congress in upcoming state elections due to their petty politics.

Bhatia described Gandhi as a failed product, stating that the Congress party continues to launch this defective product without success.

In addition, Bhatia accused the Punjab government, led by Bhagwant Mann, of failing to fulfill promises to state employees. He stated that the AAP government is suppressing and harassing government workers. Bhatia emphasized that approximately 300,000 government employees and 350,000 pensioners are currently on strike in Punjab, protesting against unfulfilled promises.

He highlighted the government’s failure to regularize employees and address pending dearness allowances (DA). Bhatia criticized Mann for refusing to engage in dialogue with protesters, asserting that a chief minister should not exert pressure but should communicate with demonstrators, which is the essence of democracy.

Bhatia referenced a government order from August 29, 2026, which called for the listing of protesters and actions against them. He condemned the government’s failure to meet promises regarding DA, job security, and the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), accusing them of adopting a dictatorial approach.

He questioned whether the right to protest is only reserved for AAP members and stated that the people of Punjab feel cheated. Bhatia asserted that the Mann government has depleted the state treasury and failed to fulfill its constitutional responsibilities.

He concluded by stating that Arvind Kejriwal cannot hide behind his muffler and must answer for the government’s actions. Bhatia labeled the Mann government as insensitive, predicting that the people of Punjab will oust such a government.
