New Delhi, August 31: Congress Rajya Sabha member Pawan Khera has targeted the government following the FIR filed against Rahul Gandhi, the Supreme Court‘s remarks, and statements made by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in the United States.
In a conversation regarding the FIR registered against Rahul Gandhi in Uttarakhand, Khera stated, “There are already 40-50 cases; one more will be added, so don’t worry about it. What message are they sending? Who is the BJP trying to target with this FIR? This is crucial. The message is directed at the entire oppressed, marginalized, and Dalit community that if they have ever raised their voice or if someone speaks on their behalf, action will be taken against that individual.”
He described the FIR as another example of the mindset of the BJP and the RSS. “So, do not worry about the FIR. We should be concerned that in the 21st century, the governance of a country run by the Constitution is in the hands of those who neither apologize nor file FIRs regarding ‘purification,’ and neither the Prime Minister nor the Home Minister is addressing this issue. Instead, action is being taken against those who raise their voices against ‘purification,’” he added.
Welcoming the Supreme Court’s comment that students should not be stopped from asking questions, Khera remarked, “We appreciate this statement. Currently, if someone questions the government, they are labeled as Khalistani or terrorists.”
Regarding Mohan Bhagwat’s statement in New York that India’s identity lies in unity in diversity, Khera responded, “The elephant’s teeth are for eating and showing off. Let them come into the country, and then we will talk. Inside the country, they claim that every person living here is Hindu. Outside, they say that if any Hindu believes that Muslims should not reside here, then they are not a true Hindu. These people are mentally hollow. This ideology is not new. Since its inception, their mental emptiness has been evident. They talk about Akhand Bharat, so ask them, today Muslims make up 14-15% of India. If Akhand Bharat is formed, that number will rise to 45%. Can you tolerate that? You cannot even tolerate 14-15% and start looking around. Ask them this question. As for Mohan Bhagwat, let’s leave him for now. It is the misfortune of this country that he has been imposed upon it.”
