New Delhi, June 5: Former Agriculture Minister J.P. Dalal addressed journalists regarding issues affecting farmers and the current political climate. He expressed optimism that the government committee has made decisions in favor of farmers. However, he accused several states of a particular insurance company delaying or failing to make payments to farmers.
Dalal warned that if strict action is not taken and FIRs are not filed against the responsible parties, farmers may face further delays in receiving their rightful payments. He emphasized the need for rigorous measures to ensure transparency and effectiveness in the system. While the government has taken a step forward, he noted that actual payments and resolutions may still take time.
On the electoral process, he mentioned that questions are being raised about the improvement and amendment of voter lists in various areas. He clarified that this is a standard administrative procedure aimed at keeping the lists clean and updated. Correcting records for individuals whose names are inaccurately listed or who have moved should not be viewed negatively. He criticized the unnecessary controversies surrounding this process.
Dalal stated that the opposition frequently makes various claims, yet the grassroots support for the Bharatiya Janata Party remains strong. He noted that while some people make predictions, they often lack a solid basis. Recently, activities from certain political parties and new organizations have emerged, attempting to establish their presence through social media and public platforms.
He further asserted that the democratic system in the country is robust and cannot be weakened by foreign influences or conspiracies. The people of India are aware and consistently express their decisions through elections. Any organization or group attempting to disrupt the country’s stability should face appropriate legal and administrative actions.
