Dehradun, April 15: In preparation for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra, the tourism season, and wedding festivities, a review meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Secretary of Food and Civil Supplies. The meeting focused on the supply of domestic and commercial gas, as well as diesel and petrol. Representatives from oil companies and district supply officers from all districts participated in the meeting. The Secretary emphasized the need for all district supply officers to ensure that the public does not face any difficulties regarding gas supply.
During the meeting, Secretary Anand Swaroop conducted a detailed review of the fuel supply situation in the state. He instructed that the supply system be strengthened in light of the anticipated influx of millions of pilgrims during the Char Dham Yatra. He assured that the availability of LPG, petrol, and diesel would be uninterrupted during the travel period, especially considering the tourism and wedding seasons.
The review included direct communication with district supply officers to gather feedback. Various operational issues were raised, including seasonal spikes in gas demand, increased consumption of commercial cylinders due to weddings, transportation and distribution challenges, and the need for coordination among agencies in certain areas. The Secretary directed that immediate action be taken on all issues raised by the districts.

They also mentioned that regular coordination with agencies would help keep the supply system running smoothly.
The Secretary instructed oil companies to establish better coordination with gas agencies across all districts to ensure timely supply and to address any arising issues promptly. District supply officers were also directed to maintain continuous monitoring in their respective areas and ensure swift action as needed.
Furthermore, the Secretary advised all relevant departments and oil companies to exercise special vigilance in light of the Char Dham Yatra, ensuring adequate availability of fuel and gas along travel routes and major halts, so that pilgrims do not face any inconvenience.
