New Delhi, April 15: India’s U-17 men’s team is set to play two friendly matches against the United Arab Emirates on April 17 and 21. These matches will take place at the Windmill Football Club in Samut Prakan, Thailand.
This series is part of the preparations for the AFC U-17 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia, scheduled for 2026. The friendly matches will be held behind closed doors. Both matches will kick off at 4:30 PM IST. The 24-member Blue Colts squad arrived in Thailand on April 15.
Last month, under the guidance of coach Bibiano Fernandes, the team played three friendly matches in Lopburi, Thailand, drawing against Thailand (2-2), winning against Indonesia (3-0), and losing to South Korea (1-2). Following these matches, the Blue Colts continued their training camp in Kolkata.
In the AFC U-17 Asian Cup, India will compete in Group D, facing Australia on May 6, Uzbekistan on May 10, and DPR Korea on May 13.
