
Hyderabad, May 15: A fire erupted in an empty coach of the Hyderabad-Jaipur Special train parked at Nampally Railway Station on Friday. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The blaze started in an air-conditioned coach and quickly spread to a nearby coach. The incident occurred around 6:45 PM, just before the train’s scheduled departure at 7:50 PM. Railway staff noticed smoke emanating from the coach and promptly alerted the fire brigade.
Teams from the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency, along with the fire department, arrived at the scene to extinguish the flames. Three fire engines were deployed to control the fire.
Passengers at the station were thrown into a panic following the incident. Railway personnel safely evacuated travelers from other coaches.
A spokesperson for South Central Railway confirmed that the fire broke out in an empty coach of the Hyderabad-Jaipur Special train, with no passengers inside. There were no reports of injuries, and the fire was brought under control swiftly.
The affected coaches, B1 and B2, were detached from the train. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and railway officials have initiated an investigation into the matter.
Authorities are currently assessing the damage. There have been no significant disruptions to train operations at the station.
Meanwhile, a separate fire broke out in a decorative goods warehouse near Konga Kalan village in the Adibatla area of Ranga Reddy district, also without any casualties.
According to police, the fire ignited in a warehouse located behind the PSR Sloka Convention Hall, where decorative items were stored. The blaze spread rapidly due to the presence of plastic and wooden materials, creating thick black smoke in the area.
Fire department vehicles responded quickly to the scene and managed to control the fire. The cause of this fire is also under investigation, with police stating that a case has been registered.
