Mumbai, February 19: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that security forces have successfully dismantled the last 44 monuments established by Maoists as symbols of terror in Gadchiroli district. He extended heartfelt congratulations to the brave police force of Gadchiroli for this achievement. This operation goes beyond merely removing physical structures; it represents a decisive victory over the mindset of fear that has plagued the community for years.

CM Fadnavis shared on social media platform X that these monuments were erected by Maoists in remote areas to instill terror among local citizens and showcase their presence. However, the government’s steadfast anti-Maoist policy has significantly transformed the situation in Gadchiroli.

He noted that the security campaign, surrender policy, development projects, and increased trust from locals have all contributed to this change. In this context, a well-coordinated search and inspection operation was conducted by nearly 800 personnel from the Gadchiroli police force, C-60 commandos, CRPF, and special teams. Following inspections by the BDDs team, these 44 monuments located in various forest areas were destroyed.

The operation was particularly focused on sensitive regions within the Etapalli, Hedri, Bhamragad, Jimlagatta, Dhanora, and Pendhari sub-divisions. Where symbols of terror once stood, there is now a renewed trust in the administration and hope for development.

The Chief Minister emphasized that this operation symbolizes the changing reality of Gadchiroli. It marks a significant transition from fear to trust and from violence to development.

He made it clear that no traces of Maoism will be tolerated on Gadchiroli’s soil. The rule of law is established, the path to peace and development is unwavering, and security forces remain resolute in ensuring the safety of the public on all fronts.
