Kolkata, June 24: West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari listened to public grievances during a ‘Janta Darbar’ held at the BJP headquarters in Kolkata on Wednesday. Many individuals came forward to share their concerns.
One such individual, Subhajit Roy, expressed his distress, stating, “My child has suffered from a liver disease since birth, and his condition has now become critical. His liver has completely failed. I have sought treatment at PG Hospital and AIIMS Delhi, among other government hospitals. The Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) doctors have advised that a liver transplant is necessary within 30 days. It has been about 15 days, and I have not been able to arrange the funds.”
The desperate father continued, “The treatment costs approximately ₹18 to ₹20 lakhs or more. I have exhausted all my savings, sold my belongings, and taken loans, but I have nothing left. Only 10 to 15 days remain. I have come here to seek help from the Chief Minister for my child’s liver transplant.”
Another attendee, Sayantan Jana, shared his plight, “In 2018, I rented my home to a local resident. The tenant, TMC leader Devjeet Pandey, has not paid rent for the last four years and refuses to vacate the property. I have lodged multiple complaints at the police station, but no action has been taken. I filed an FIR at Behala police station in 2023, but still, there has been no response. The police say I must go to court for a resolution. Today, I have come to seek the Chief Minister’s assistance in getting my home back.”
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari regularly organizes ‘Janta Darbar’ to address the issues faced by the citizens of West Bengal. During these sessions, he listens to public complaints and instructs officials to provide immediate solutions.
