Amit Shah Critiques Congress After MLC Election Results: How Many Seats Did They Win?

Amit Shah questions Congresss performance in recent MLC elections, highlighting their failure to secure any seats in key states.

New Delhi, October 28 (Daily Kiran) : Central Home Minister Amit Shah has taken aim at the Congress party following the recent results of the Legislative Council elections, which saw a significant victory for the NDA (National Democratic Alliance). In a post on social media platform X, Shah provocatively asked how many of the 28 contested seats Congress managed to win, declaring, “Zero. Resign from the ballot box.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also targeted the opposition, questioning their performance in the MLC elections held in four major states: Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, and Karnataka. He challenged critics to guess how many seats Congress secured.

Modi’s remarks came in response to the opposition’s demands for a return to paper ballots, alleging discrepancies with electronic voting machines (EVMs). In support of Modi, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari reposted the Prime Minister’s comments, emphasizing that Congress failed to win a single seat in the elections, which were conducted using paper ballots.

Adhikari criticized Congress for their tendency to blame EVMs whenever they face electoral defeat. He noted that despite the shift to paper ballots, Congress still received no seats, rendering their anti-EVM narrative irrelevant.

He further stated that the message from voters is clear: the Indian public has decisively rejected Congress and its leadership. Adhikari asserted that the chaos created by Congress and its alliances did not hinder the NDA’s prospects.

As the dust settles on the election results, questions arise about who Congress will blame this time, with some suggesting they might point fingers at the ink used on the ballots.
