Family Accuses Police of Negligence in Twisha Sharma Case, Claims System is Being Misused

Bhopal, May 21: In the aftermath of Twisha Sharma’s alleged suicide, her family has accused the police of negligence in their investigation. They claim that the family of her absconding husband, Samarth Singh, is attempting to influence the inquiry using their connections.

Ankur Pandey, the lawyer representing the family, stated that they plan to challenge the interim bail granted to Samarth Singh’s mother, former district judge Giribala Singh, in the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s Jabalpur bench.

Giribala Singh is a co-accused in the case and has received interim bail from the Bhopal district court.

Twisha’s uncle, Lokesh Sharma, expressed his concerns in an interview, stating that the case has been mishandled from the beginning. He emphasized that the police should provide explanations for their negligence.

He alleged that the FIR was filed three days late and questioned whether the crime scene had been secured or if any officials were assigned to monitor it.

Twisha’s cousin, Aashish Sharma, pointed out that the CCTV footage presented in court clearly shows evidence that should have been seized by the police, but was instead displayed by the accused’s side. He urged the court to raise questions about this.

The family has previously claimed that the investigating officer failed to present the belt allegedly used for the hanging during the post-mortem examination.

Aashish also accused the authorities of proceeding with the case at their discretion. He mentioned that the family had requested a second post-mortem before Twisha’s funeral, but this was being avoided. The family is in deep anguish, especially since they cannot even perform her last rites. They believe that Samarth Singh’s family is using their influence to obstruct the legal process.

He stated, “Every step seems pre-planned, and evidence is being tampered with.”

Aashish warned that if justice is not served soon, this case may fade from public memory like many others. He questioned whether the administration and judiciary would continue to side with powerful individuals if Twisha does not receive justice.

The family is prepared to fight for Twisha’s justice by all means. They are in constant contact with authorities and are willing to approach the High Court and, if necessary, the Supreme Court.

He accused Samarth Singh’s family of being influential and manipulating the system to protect themselves.

Regarding a meeting with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, he stated that assurances would only matter if the investigation is conducted properly.

Meanwhile, Samarth Singh applied for interim bail in the Madhya Pradesh High Court on Thursday.
