Patna, February 25: The Marine Drive in Bihar’s capital, Patna, known as JP Ganga Path, will be extended to Buxar. Minister Dilip Jayaswal announced this ambitious plan during a session of the Bihar Assembly. The state government envisions extending this path from Buxar to Farakka.

During the budget session, BJP MLA Mithilesh Tiwari raised concerns about the expansion of the JP Ganga Corridor. He noted that while residents are pleased with the work done up to Koilwar, there is a strong demand for further development towards Buxar.

In response, Minister Jayaswal stated, “Previously, people traveled to Maharashtra’s Marine Drive, but thanks to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s vision, locals now refer to the Ganga Path as a Marine Drive.”

He emphasized that the state government is working on a comprehensive plan to connect the riverside road with waterways. The construction will extend from Koilwar to Bidupur, with the ultimate goal of realizing the vision of a Marine Drive stretching from Buxar to Farakka.

MLA Mithilesh Tiwari urged the government to make a formal announcement rather than just presenting it as a dream. Meanwhile, Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary interjected, requesting members of the assembly to refrain from calling the Ganga Path a Marine Drive. He mentioned that residents of Mumbai are now suggesting that their Marine Drive be modeled after the Ganga Path, which has become a benchmark for beauty and attraction.
