Amaravati, August 7: In a tragic incident on Friday, an engineering student in Andhra Pradesh allegedly stabbed his girlfriend to death. The incident occurred near Chintapalli in the Palnadu district.
Police reported that Bala Saidulu and the victim were both B.Tech students at a private college in Guntur and had been in a relationship for some time. According to initial reports, the accused called the girl to Chintapalli to discuss some issues. During their argument, Saidulu fatally stabbed her.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Saidulu suspected the girl had been avoiding him for a while. Bala Saidulu was a resident of a village in the Karamapudi mandal, while the victim hailed from Chilakaluripet in the Palnadu district. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu ordered strict action against those involved in a separate incident where a car ran over medical students in Rajamahendravaram.
The Chief Minister took serious note of the incident where a car collided with two medical students riding a scooter. He inquired about the condition of the injured students, Priyanka and Umesh.
Officials informed the Chief Minister that the driver, who was intoxicated, hit the students and fled the scene. They confirmed that the responsible individual has been arrested.
The Chief Minister directed that stringent measures be taken to ensure the culprits face severe punishment. He emphasized that those responsible should not be spared under any circumstances. He also instructed officials to monitor the health of student Priyanka closely and provide all necessary medical assistance to the injured students.
Priyanka was declared brain-dead after being struck by the vehicle near a mall in Rajamahendravaram. This incident occurred on Tuesday but came to light on Thursday. Dr. Priyanka, a postgraduate student at GSL Medical College, was leaving the mall on a scooter with a friend when the tragedy struck.
Before the doctor could react or the security guard at the gate could intervene, the car hit the scooter again, crushing her and causing severe head injuries. Despite the shouts from the security guard and bystanders, the driver fled the scene quickly.
The critically injured doctor was first admitted to a local hospital and later transferred to a hospital in Hyderabad, where she was declared ‘brain-dead.’
