In this context, the AYUSH Ministry of the Indian government is actively encouraging people to incorporate yoga into their daily routines for a healthier and more peaceful life. The ministry is continuously sharing information about new yoga poses and the benefits of practicing them.
The ministry has introduced an easy and effective meditation technique. Their clear message is “Pause, Breathe, Reconnect.” According to yoga experts, meditation is the simplest way to calm the mind, enhance concentration, and achieve emotional balance. In today’s fast-paced life, just a few minutes of mindful breathing and meditation each day can bring clarity, peace, and positive energy into one’s life.
Experts urge individuals to carve out time for meditation, even amidst busy schedules. They also provide a simple technique for meditation:
Find a comfortable spot and sit in a meditative posture, keeping your spine straight. Place your hands on your thighs in Gyan Mudra (connecting the thumb and index finger). Gradually close your eyes and slightly lift your face. Continue to breathe normally during this time.
Initially, focus entirely on your breath. Then, shift your attention to the area between your eyebrows (the Ajna Chakra). Remain in this position for five minutes or as long as you feel comfortable. To conclude your practice, gently bring your focus back to your breath and then to your surroundings.
