
New Delhi, June 8: A serious accident occurred near the Multan Nagar red light on Rohtak Road in the West Vihar East police jurisdiction. A cluster bus collided with four individuals, including a woman, resulting in a total of five injuries. The police have arrested the bus driver and seized the vehicle.
According to police reports, on June 7, 2026, around 6 PM, Nirmala Devi, aged 50, was crossing the road with three relatives. At that moment, a cluster bus on route number 954, allegedly speeding and driving recklessly from Rajghat, struck them.
The impact caused Nirmala Devi and her relatives to fall onto the road, leading to a chaotic scene as bystanders rushed to help. The injured were initially treated at Shri Balaji Hospital before being referred to another facility for further care.
Among the injured were Nirmala Devi’s acquaintance, Nisha, aged 23, from Madipur JJ Colony, Delhi, and two minor children. All sustained minor injuries.
In a swift response, the police apprehended the driver at the scene and took the bus into custody under legal procedures. A case has been registered at the West Vihar East police station under the BNS. The investigation is ongoing.
The driver has been identified as Irshad Ali, 28, son of Shamshad Ali, a resident of Meer Vihar, Madanpur Dabass, Delhi. Authorities reported that the injured relatives were sent to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital for medical examination, and further action is being taken.
