Election Countdown: BJP Ready for Results in West Bengal, Says Suvendu Adhikari

Kolkata, May 4: As the vote counting for the West Bengal Assembly elections approaches, political tensions are rising. Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of the opposition in the state assembly and BJP candidate, stated that his party is fully prepared for the election results.

In a conversation with reporters, Adhikari remarked, “All arrangements have been made by the BJP. Our national leaders, Sunil Bansal and Bhupendra Jadhav, have toured West Bengal, meeting with candidates and agents. I have also been in touch with everyone.”

He emphasized that the counting process will be lengthy, mentioning that there are 321 booths in Nandigram. “There is no need to worry about the initial rounds of results. By the 9th or 10th round, the situation will become clear,” he added.

Referencing the violence from 2021, Adhikari asserted, “This time, the BJP is fully prepared. We were not ready in 2021. We are completely set for May 4. A BJP government is coming, and we will ensure law and order. For the next 60 days, 2,500 paramilitary companies will be with us.”

TMC leader Kunal Ghosh raised concerns about the arrangements for polling agents at counting centers, questioning, “This is being done deliberately by the BJP to distract TMC’s counting agents. This confusion is intentionally created to divert our counting agents’ attention, but our agents are soldiers of Mamata Banerjee. Water and food are their rights. Either provide it to us or allow us to supply it ourselves.”

Regarding the re-polling in Falta, the TMC has questioned the Election Commission and the administration. Ghosh stated, “If there was large-scale rigging in Falta, what were they doing on election day? If there is rigging in the ‘Singham’ area, then it is not a lion but a rat. He should be suspended.”
