Easy Access to LPG Cylinders Without Permanent Address: Government Initiative

New Delhi, April 4: In line with the government’s commitment to ensure uninterrupted LPG supply for citizens, state-owned oil distribution companies are promoting the 5-kilogram Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders.

The unique aspect of this 5-kilogram FTL cylinder is that it can be obtained easily without a permanent address, requiring only a government-issued ID to collect it from an LPG distributor or agency.

This initiative is particularly aimed at students and migrant workers who live in cities away from their hometowns and lack a permanent address.

Indian Oil, the oil distribution company, highlighted this service on the social media platform X, stating, “If you live away from home, don’t have a permanent address, and are facing difficulties in obtaining an LPG connection, there is now an easy solution.”

The post further elaborated, “Indane ‘Chhotu’ — the 5-kilogram Free Trade LPG cylinder. Small, convenient, and readily available, it is specifically designed for students and migrant workers who need a reliable cooking solution without delay.”

Previously, Indian Oil assured that domestic gas supply remains stable, with approximately 2.8 million LPG cylinders being distributed daily across the country.

Despite global challenges, the operations have continued smoothly, according to the state-owned oil company.

Indian Oil has reassured consumers that there is no shortage and advised against panic booking or hoarding.

The company noted that about 87% of LPG bookings are now made through digital platforms like SMS and IVRS, with deliveries authenticated via DAC OTP to ensure customer satisfaction.

Additionally, the company is actively addressing customer concerns through official support channels.
